Dallas, GA – July 29, 2025 – For this year’s annual back-to-school initiative, the L.E.A.R.N. Foundation Inc. proudly hosted, Prep for Success: Back to School Giving Week, delivering vital support and helping to ease the financial burden of back-to-school season to families across the region. Over the course of the week, we distributed approximately 325 backpacks filled with essential school supplies and provided assistance to 91 families with clothing, food, and hygiene products. The event proudly served a diverse group of community members, including veterans, college students, and children, ensuring that learners of all ages were equipped for success.

Our community united in a remarkable display of generosity and support through monetary and in-kind contributions. The reach of our initiative was made possible through partnerships with community organizations including the American Legion, Hope Atlanta, Haralson County Chamber of Commerce, Paulding County DFCS, and the Paulding County Health Department. These partners played a vital role in distributing supplies.

In addition, organizations such as Work Source Georgia Veteran Services, S.H.A.R.E. House, CD.EDResources, and USPS were in attendance, sharing valuable resources and opportunities with families, further enhancing our outreach to veterans and those continuing their education.

In addition to essential resources, the event offered complimentary self-care services. Nail technician, Asia Chandler, provided free nail services throughout the week, while some of the talented professionals from Furious Styles Barber and Beauty Institute donated their time to offer free haircuts and simple styles to students. Families were also delighted with small toys, games, and crafts for children, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the event.

“This week was about more than just school supplies—it was about restoring confidence, building community, and showing families that they are supported,” said Robin Laflora, event coordinator. “We’re incredibly grateful to every volunteer, partner, and organization that came together to make this possible. The smiles on the children’s faces and the relief expressed by parents reminded us why this work matters. Together, we’re not just preparing students for school—we’re investing in their future.”

Looking ahead, we are excited to announce our Annual Holiday Giving Event, scheduled for Saturday, December 20, 2025. This much-anticipated event will focus on spreading joy and support during the holiday season by giving away toys, food, clothing, and more. Families can look forward to an engaging community celebration featuring food trucks, gift wrapping services, games for kids, a live DJ, and a festive atmosphere that embodies the spirit of giving.

“We invite everyone to join us for this joyous occasion,” said Christine Smith, event coordinator. “Our Holiday Giving Event is not only about providing essential items; it’s about building community and celebrating together.”
